He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Combs; wife, Susie Price; son, Michael Combs, and a daughter, Michelle Combs.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Eva Dixon and Julian Dixon; son, Kevin Combs; and brother, Anthony Dixon, all of Cleveland; two sisters: Lee Owens of Chatsworth, Ga., and Sarah Sharp of Dalton, Ga.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 31, 2010, at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. J.C. Eller officiating.
Dale Dodson, Alvin Goodwin, Steve Goodwin, Stanley Goodwin, Tommy Martin and Steve Martin served as pallbearers.
The service was concluded with a dove release ceremony.
