There was an error in the Aug. 27 story titled “Sheriff-elect Jim Ruth demotes Chief Deputy Bill Dyer.” The story should have stated that Brian Quinn was promoted to the rank of captain. Capt. Jon Collins will retain his rank and move from the Patrol Division to Corrections.
