A case full of shipping containers which were reportedly just “out of place” prompted a call to the Cleveland Police Department Sunday afternoon, bringing out explosives experts to make a determination.

According to CPD officer Chris Jacques, a trained explosives ordnance technician, the box was found at the Post Office located on Keith Street.

“A citizen who apparently had a post office box at the facility became concerned,” said Jacques.

The box was out of place, not normally there, he explained.

Officers Matt Bailey and Victor Cleveland also responded to the Post Office branch to aid Jacques.

After using X-ray technology, the package was determined to be safe.

Chief Wes Snyder said apparently, the package was full of containers used by postal workers to carry mail items.

“It was a box that was sitting where it wasn’t supposed to be and that raised the citizen’s concern,” said Snyder.
