Kenneth “Kenny” James Allen, 44, a resident of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Wilkie Allen.

He was a block and brick mason by trade. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Linda Joyce “Joy” Allen of Charleston; son, Randall James “Bubba” Allen of Charleston; daughters: Amber Nicole Allen and her fiancé, Alan Hiefnar, and Kendra Lynn Allen, both of Cleveland; grandchildren: Trenton Gage Edwards, Draven Alexander Goode and Colton Lee Hiefnar, all of Cleveland; mother, Peggy Louise Allen of Cleveland; sisters: Pamela Renee Lightfoot and her husband, John Paul, of Cleveland, and Barbara Jean Bussey and her husband, Jimmy, of Old Fort; and nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 12, 2010, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Kenneth Isbill and Pastor Mitchell Allen officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Greg Truelove, Darrell Godfrey, Charles Goins, Eddison Beard, Danny Price Sr and Joey Beard serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
