Mildred Leona Beaty, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at her residence.

She was a member of Maple Street Baptist Church.

She was an expert quilter and accomplished in crocheting, tatting and embroidery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd H. Miller and Alice L. Faw Miller; husband, Warner Beaty; and sister, Elizabeth Kimsey.

Survivors include three sisters: Betty Lee, Nancy Miller, Billie Lawson and her husband, Blaine “Peanut” Lawson, all of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Charles Kimsey of Dalton, Ga.; nieces: Alice Kimsey, Becky Calhoun and her husband, Lewis, and Lori Lawson; nephew, Stan Kimsey and wife, Virna; and great-nephew, Greyson Kimsey.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Jim Phillips, Gary Gunter, Richy Blair, Franklin Taylor, Eddie Beaty and Gary Beaty serving as pallbearers. Bobby Kessler, Jimmy Morgan, Randy Cooley, Tennis Reagan, Danny Casteel, Ronnie Miller and Terry Beaty will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
