Just before 11 Thursday morning Bradley County EMS responded to a single-vehicle accident on Upper River Road and Old River Road.

A 28-year-old female was driving an SUV that left the roadway. Her vehicle rolled and landed on the driver’s side near the river. She was able to crawl up to the road where a passerby found her and called 911.

When the EMS crew arrived on the scene it was determined by the paramedic in charge that her injuries were severe enough to require treatment at a level one trauma center, according to Stan Clark, Bradley County EMS public information officer.

Air Evac’s medical helicopter flew to the scene and airlifted the patient to Erlanger in Chattanooga. The Bradley County Fire and Rescue Service was in charge of the landing zone, which was nearby the accident scene.

“This was another prime example of how well all of our agencies work together starting from the Bradley County 911 Center and the responding agencies, Bradley County EMS (and the) Bradley County Fire and Sherrif’s (departments), resulting in great patient care,” Clark said.
