The first Coffee and Business Advice group will meet Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the library. This will be the place to get network advice and coffee for those interested in starting a small business or franchise.

Movie Night at the library will resume Thursday at 6 p.m. with the classic “Wuthering Heights” (1939). Come for an entertaining evening with free popcorn.

Becky Dethero, a former Cleveland resident, will be here Oct. 2 to sign copies of her new book, “From the Porch Swing,” from noon until 3 p.m.

The book consists of 75 vignettes which offer five-minute “vacations” to destinations of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Topics include Growing Up, Children and Grandchildren, Holidays, and Conversations from the Porch Swing.

Some of the stories in the book are from a column she wrote for the Bradley News Weekly called “From the Porch Swing.”

Dethero and her husband, John, retired to Florence, Ala., to spend time with grandchildren.

Claude Wallace will be signing copies of his new book, “Roar of the Wild Wind,” Oct. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. Wallace, a Cleveland resident, writes about the historical development of Charleston.

The novel is about a country boy who had a very close friendship with an old Cherokee Indian who had evaded the Union Army by hiding out in the back woods instead of going to Oklahoma with the other Cherokees the Union Army had rounded up.

There will be a Teen Coffeehouse on Oct. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. “Games, Games and More Games” will be the theme for this coffeehouse night.

All library services are available to teens on coffeehouse night. It is the perfect place for teens to gather for a fun and safe evening.
