Guy T. Harris, 99, of Calhoun, died on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Old Austin, Ark., and came to Tennessee in 1936. He was retired from Hiwassee Land Co. as a metal fabricator.

He was a member of the Hiwassee Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Calhoun United Methodist Church and a member of the Walker Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Harris; parents, Charles Henry Harris and Gladys Opal Harris; sister, Mamie Harvey; brother, Harold Harris; and son-in-law, Eddie Wilson.

Survivors include three children and spouses: Charles Harris and wife, Jean Harris, of Calhoun, Ga., Judy Wilson of Cleveland, and Vickie McCamish and husband, Cliff McCamish, of Calhoun; sister, Tessie Carroll, of Munster, Ind.; five grandchildren: Tim Harris and Brian Harris, both of Calhoun, Ga., Ginger Buchanan and Dale Wilson, both of Cleveland, and Stephanie Dozier of Murfreesboro; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. today, Sept. 27, 2010, at Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Parson and the Rev. Hugh Bryan officiating.

Interment will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Tim Harris, Brian Harris, Dale Wilson, John Buchanan, Gene Carmichael, Mack Shelton, Lynn Freeman, Walter Barham, and Gary Barham.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
