TEEING IT UP — Walker Valley High School’s softball team will be holding a fundraising golf tournament Oct. 10 at Chatata Valley Golf Club to help the squad purchase new uniforms for the upcoming season. Getting ready for the event are the team’s four seniors, new head coach and event sponsor, from left Kayla Sewell, Ashley Lewis, coach Lauren Limburg, sponsor Markietta Munck, Amanda Helton and Laurel Allen.
Playing at the Chatata Valley Golf Club on Benton Pike, the Sunday afternoon event sponsored by The Markietta Munck Team, RE/MAX REP, will begin with lunch provided by O’Charley’s Restaurant at noon before a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The event’s format is a two-person select shot style with a cost of $50 per person ($100 per team).
Several local businesses have pledged their support through the sponsorship of holes and carts and by providing door prizes. Prizes will be awarded for winning teams along with “closest to the pin” and “longest drive”.
The proceeds from the tournament will be used to help the team purchase new uniforms for the upcoming season. Hole and cart sponsorships are available for $50 and $25 respectively.
The Lady Mustangs look forward to a successful and fun afternoon of golf.
