Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers President of the Chattanooga Region Mack McCarley recognized and presented Knight with the award during the Bradley County Commission meeting Monday.
“Not only is she (Knight) recognized by her peers in Tennessee, but she is also recognized by her peers across the nation,” said McCarley.
Knight first received the award in 2003.
New business approved during Monday’s work session included:
n Edd Lewis was appointed as constable of the 7th district.
n The conveyance of an abandoned Tasso Road right-of-way to the Airport Authority.
n An amendment to the zoning resolution which will allow property owners to request their property be rezoned to a higher level with the approval of the county’s planning commission.
In other business, Glenna Pritchett was appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals; Commissioner Bill Winters was appointed to the Keep America Beautiful (KAB) board; and, Commissioners Terry Caywood, Dr. Mel Griffith and Howard Thompson were appointed to the Landfill Committee.
The Law Enforcement Committee will meet today at 4:30 p.m. at the Bradley County Judicial Complex. The Finance Committee will meet Wednesday at noon at the county mayor’s conference room. The Bradley County Commission will hold a work session Monday. A joint meeting between the Bradley County Commission and the Cleveland City Council will be held at noon Oct. 13, at the Mountain View Inn.
