Chaplain Jeffrey B. Walden

U.S. Army Chaplain Jeffrey B. Walden has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. Walden will be leaving Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas, to assume his duties in White Sands, N.M., as the post chaplain. Walden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walden of Cleveland. They had the privilege to pin rank on Walden Sept. 2. Also attending the promotion ceremony were his wife, Roslyn; and children Jesse and Lily; mother-in-law and father-in-law Peggy and Russ Darnell; and many friends. The Charles Waldens also have three other sons, two who also served their country — Darius C. Walden in the U.S. Army and Joel D. Walden in the U.S. Navy.

PV2 Brian ‘Aaron’ Beaty



Army PV2 Brian “Aaron” Beaty graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Okla., on Sept. 17, 2010.

During the 10 weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, military courtesy, history, tradition, physical fitness and core values.

Beaty received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, chemical warfare, map reading, field tactics, and basic first aid.

He is the son of Tammy Selvidge of Cleveland.
