A 57-year-old Cleveland man was injured during a Monday crash in Ooltewah which killed the driver of a vehicle with four children in it, according to wire reports.

Charles Shavis Jr. of Cleveland suffered minor injuries in the crash which occurred just before 12:30 p.m.

Victor Carr, 30, of Ooltewah, was killed and four children ranging from 3 to 16 years suffered injuries, according to reports.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the crash investigation which occurred on Hunter Road.

Wire reports indicated Carr was driving a passenger car and collided with Shavis’ SUV.

Shavis was pulling a camping trailer.

According to preliminary investigative reports, the passenger car driven by Carr reportedly crossed the center line and collided with the vehicle driven by Shavis.

All four children were taken to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital for treatment, according to reports.

- A Benton man was arrested Saturday by Cleveland Police and charged with aggravated assault and weapons violation after he allegedly “waved the gun around and placed it on the dashboard” of his car while in the parking lot of the Bradley Square Mall.

Arrowood, 22, was taken into custody by officer Carl Walls of the Cleveland Police Department, according to reports.

Officers responded to Walmart North, located on Keith Street, after a call to 911 advised of a man with a gun.

Arrowood was also a suspect in a “man with a gun” call at the Kmart store on Paul Huff Parkway.

According to reports, “Witness statements place Mr. Arrowood as the man who had honked his horn at several teenage girls in the parking lot at Kmart,” then allegedly waved a gun and placed it on his dashboard.

Officers found a rifle on the dashboard of the vehicle occupied by Arrowood, according to the report.

He was placed under arrest and taken to the Bradley County Jail where he was booked on the charges.

- A charge of theft under $500 was placed against a woman who allegedly took 18 copies of the Cleveland Daily Banner and three copies of the Chattanooga Times Free Press without paying for them.

A report filed with deputy Andrew Coggin of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office named Wilma Cambron as the suspect.

According to his report, Cambron was reportedly seen by the store manager at Super Saver Grocery on Spring Place Road taking a large number of papers.

Coggin checked the paper racks at the store and they were empty.

After making contact with the suspect, Coggin noted in his report she allegedly changed her story regarding the amount of newspapers she had initially taken and eventually retrieved the papers.

Cambron was issued a citation to appear in court on the charge.
