Jim Haynie, owner, said the decision to locate a Champion Cleaner site in Spring Creek came a few months ago after visiting the site and reviewing its plans for the future.
“We feel blessed to be a part of the Cleveland business community and excited about expanding to Spring Creek,” Haynie said. “We feel the quality image of Spring Creek fits right into our philosophy of working to be the best every day.”
The Spring Creek location will offer 24-hour, 7-day-a-week drop-off and pickup service and is expected to open in early November. Haynie said future plans call for home delivery and concierge services to be announced.
Champion Cleaners opened on North Lee Highway in 1998, and is an independently owned laundry and dry cleaner offering a full line of services from wash, fluff, fold and press services to cleaning wedding gowns, drapes, comforters, sheets and other larger and/or specialty items such as furs and leathers.
A member of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce, Haynie said Champion has found the Cleveland area to be progressive and its customers to be very loyal.
“I am fortunate to have an excellent customer base,” he said, “but even more fortunate to have such a dedicated group of employees working every day to ensure our philosophy is carried out for our customers.”
Joyce Carpenter is general manager of Champion Cleaners and Pam Christian is manager of the drop location, soon to open at Spring Creek. For several years, Christian has been the smiling, friendly face at the Village Green location, which will close when the Champion Cleaners opens at Spring Creek. Carpenter manages the day-to-day operation of all locations and is in touch with her employee and customer base, providing professional and efficient leadership for the company.
Haynie said the two make quite a team and the new location will further enhance Champion’s ability to serve even more customers in the future.
“Spring Creek is literally in the heart of the city, easily accessible to all areas and we feel it will be a convenient facility for easy entrance and exit,” Haynie said. Champion has already put into place services to complement the Spring Creek Development concept as he will begin providing services for businesses and residents of Spring Creek, as well as The Retreat at Spring Creek, a 199-unit, luxury, gated community, under construction.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of a growing and progressive city like Cleveland,” he said.
Spring Creek Developers said they are pleased to have a quality business like Champion Cleaners joining the mix of businesses in Spring Creek Town Center.
“Spring Creek owners have been very careful to solicit and seek out service-oriented businesses that will complement our specialty shops, eateries and other businesses coming to the complex,” said Tom Cate, a development partner. He noted the large 199-unit luxury apartment community is another complement to the development as “it will bring a new concept of living to our city and complement the loft condos, cottage and single-family homes being built across the street in our Spring Creek Neighborhood.”
Cate also said as developers began structuring the lifestyle development concept three years ago, they surveyed potential businesses and residents about the services they’d like within walking distance of their new homes.
“A dry cleaning facility was one of the priorities as a needed service inside the town center. We feel we have chosen one of high quality and we are pleased to have Champion join us as we continue to plan and grow our unique lifestyle neighborhood,” Cate said.
