He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, who served during the Korean conflict.
He was owner and operator of Jim Price Paint & Body Shop for 35 years and was a member of Waterville Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Nola Pritchett Price.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Beaty Price of Cleveland, with whom he had celebrated 60 years of marriage on Aug. 12, 2010; two sons: Phillip F. Price and Perry Price, both of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Dustin Price and Michelle Price, both of Cleveland, and Marshall Hulett of Chatsworth, Ga.; one brother, Donald Price and wife, Dean, of Decatur; one sister, Edith Swafford of Decatur, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Lovelace officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens, concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Kenneth Cress, Dustin Price, Marshall Hulett, Frank Reece, Aaron Swafford and Daniel Rader will service as pallbearers. Deacons of Waterville Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. todayat the funeral home.
