“Hollywood Hillbillies,” was written by Tim Kelley. The OMS production will be directed by the middle school’s drama director Terrie Kirkpatrick.
The play is set in present day. Some good-natured, Ozark hillbillies play host to visiting Hollywood relatives and others.
The laughs are abundant when the hillbilly cousins chase their relatives with skunks and bullfrogs, and try to engage the Hollywood people in down-home, mountain fun.
This year’s cast members include: McKenzie Jaynes as Gram Hawley, Evan Wooden as cousin Clem, Misty Day as Matilda Quail, Breanna Tucker as Henrietta Paxwax, Annelise King as Cindy Lou, Hunter Ingram as Charles Seabury, Lauren Beavers as Alice, Mallory Wickam as Josephine Seabury, Sarah Beavers as Charlotte Seabury, Jason Dehart as Bubba, Todd Prather as Larry Houston, Becca Meigs as Isabelle Phelps, Garrett Woods as Sheriff Tom, Connor Rollins as Ralph Cavett, Skylar Kelley as Opal Edwards, Taylor Moore as Miss Lennox, Cody Derrick as Jim Foxhall, Madi Denney as Lucy Valentine, Shelby Prendergast as Finlandia, Tara Brum as Vera and Sallie Collins as Miss Kearns.
Other cast members include Lee Young, Haley Wattenbarger, Weslee Clark, Savannah Stout, Kayla Prather, Allie Morgan, Hannah Thurmond and Lauren Fowler as citizens of Happy Hollow. Hannah Thurmond and Allie Morgan are student director assistants and Mr. Jason Dehart is the assistant director.
The production will be held at the OMS auditorium.
Showtimes will begin Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 31 at 2:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students. The production is open to the public.
