Hoyt L. Lindner, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021, at his Cleveland residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He loved singing gospel music, spending time telling his grandkids stories of yesteryear and was the best Papa to each of them. Hoyt enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved camping and had a tremendous work ethic.
He was born on July 25, 1938, to the late James Arless and Anna Brown Lindner.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, Atticus Davis; and siblings: James Lindner, Gladys Hammons and Charlotte Taylor.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Deloris Green Lindner; loving children: Shannon Ingram, and Mitch (Jackie) Lindner; four grandchildren: Hannah Ingram, Hunter Ingram, Rusty Davis and Amanda (Justin) LaRue; four great-grandchildren: Sadie Davis, Lily Davis, Kai Davis and Ezekiel Davis; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, May 16, 2021, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Coleman and the Rev. Hoyle Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Rusty Davis, Justin LaRue, Hunter Ingram, Justin Brown, Rick Jackson and Richard Ellis serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, prior to the service at the funeral home.
