Audrey Gayle

Audrey Gayle, 62, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, in a Chattanooga hospital.

Audrey was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica, and she was preceded in death by her father, Trevor Ennis.

Audrey was a 2010 graduate of Lee University with a degree in business administration. She served as secretary with the Back to the Bible Organization and the Hope Gospel Assembly Church in Jamaica. Audrey was a writer while in Jamaica, writing for magazines and writing television scripts. She was known for writing children's books and devotional books. She enjoyed gardening, and she was a member of a writer’s club. Audrey was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God where she served as a volunteer at the daycare.

Survivors include her husband, Junior Gayle of Cleveland; daughters, Rushea Gayle Pickens (Joshua) and Jhenelle Gayle, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Malia Banther, Vada Williford and Mecca Williford; mother, Mable Ennis, Jamaica; sisters, Michelle Edwards (Lindy) of New York, and Suzett Scott (Bruce) of Jamaica; brothers, Michael Ennis (Yvonne) and Ean Ennis (Christine), all of Jamaica, and Dave Ennis (Terry) of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at North Cleveland Church of God, Dixon Chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell Owens officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the church

The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
