Billy Parker

Billy Parker, 89, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023.

He was born on July 21, 1933, to the late Lewie and Mamie Parker.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. After his service in the Army, he attended Cleveland Business School. Billy was a carpenter by trade and he enjoyed playing golf. He loved God, his family, and made all around him smile. He will be missed by all that knew him. His kind heart and witty spirit left a legacy for us all to follow. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Parker; brothers, Doyle Parker and Hoyt Parker; sister, Lola Tanksley; and nephew, Dale Parker.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Tim Parker (Ann) and Barry Parker, sister, Brenda Wilson (Jack); grandchildren, Sean Smeltzer, Ryan Smeltzer and Evan Smeltzer; great-grandchildren, Sam, Savannah, Sawyer and Skyler; nieces, Debbie Tanksley, Rhonda Colbert, Bobbie Bischoff, Janie Brewer and Lisa Parker; and nephew, Scott Lewis.

Billy’s family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Philippi Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at for family and close friends on Saturday.
