Bobby McLain


Bobby McLain, 84, of Cleveland for 78 years, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, with family at his side. He resided with his son and daughter-in-law in Savannah, Georgia.

He was a member of the Evening Light Gospel Tabernacle and retired from Pathway Press (formerly Church of God Publishing House) after 33 years. He enjoyed watching old Western movies, listening to music, spending time with his best friend, the family dog Duncan and staying in touch with friends on Facebook).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudelle Young McLain; his son, Greg McLain; his parents C.L. and Alice McLain Sr.; and his two brothers: C.L. McLain Jr. and Fletcher McLain.

He is survived by one son, Stephen (Mac) McLain and his wife, Christy of Savannah; his daughter-in-law, Melissa McLain of Cleveland; his five grandchildren: Wendi, Lakesha, Christina, Lucas and Dillon; his seven great-grandchildren; and his three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow at Earls Cemetery in McDonald. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
