Bonita Horton Johnson, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022.
“Bonnie” was living in Enterprise, Alabama. She was born on Aug. 2, 1949, in Pennsylvania. The daughter of the late Rev. George and Leanore (Shaal) Horton; she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Benjamin “Benji” Hawkins.
Left to cherish her memory, is one daughter, Laurie (Mike) Shroades; three sisters, Georgine (Mitch) Skipper, Donace (Andy) Dillon and Sheryl (Roby) Phillips; three grandchildren, Brooke (Chris) Morris, Mikey Shroades and Tyler Hawkins; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Shroades, Kynlee Shroades and Louella Morris; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was a loving and kind person that enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. She loved all of her sisters so much. She loved to sing and play piano. She was certainly very adventurous and knew how to make everyone laugh. She had a heart for missions and singing to the Lord.
There will be a Celebration of Life with family and friends at Enterprise Retirement Center on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at 3 p.m.
A special thank-you to the residents of Enterprise Retirement Center for being so caring and making life so enjoyable for her over the last five years. The dinners, shopping trips, community gatherings and porch visits truly meant the world to her.
