Catherine W. Nunnelly, 88, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1933, to the late Henry and Iva White. She was a member of Bellefounte Baptist Church for more than 60 years and was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Catherine enjoyed singing and was very committed to her church. Catherine was a tremendous cook and enjoyed feeding her friends and family at her famous “Sunday dinners.” She also enjoyed harvesting vegetables, canning them, and sharing them with her family and friends.

Catherine also spent many days and nights watching her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren play sports. She was their most devoted and biggest fan. To know Catherine was to love her; she will be dearly missed by so many.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters; a granddaughter, Miranda Canup; and son-in-law, Gene Canup.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of nearly 70 blissful years, Walter Nunnelly; son, Allen Nunnelly (Julie); Cathy Canup-Key (Gene); Jeff Nunnelly (Deanna); grandchildren, Heath Nunnelly, Michelle Miller (Joe), Drew Nunnelly (Leslie), Trent Nunnelly (Lauren) and Bryce Nunnelly; great-grandchildren, Millie, Ellie, Brayden, Steele, Charlotte and Nash; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Catherine’s family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Bellefounte Baptist Church, at 132 Bellefounte Road, Cleveland, TN 37312, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6 p.m. Pastor Lake Walker will be officiating the service.

You are invited to share a personal memory of Catherine or your condolences with her family at her online memorial at www.companionfunerals.com
