Charles E. Byrum

Charles Eugene Byrum, 92, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, in Berryville, Virginia.

He was a proud Army veteran and devoted Christian who loved his family and friends dearly.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Ruth Byrum; his parents, Roy Byrum and Stella Stewart; and his brother, Clarence Byrum.

He is survived by his three children, Ronald Lee Byrum and wife, Judy, of Cleveland, Barbara Byrum Bosserman and husband, Jerry, of Berryville, Virginia, and Carl Wayne Byrum and wife, Judy, of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, Adam Byrum, Kelly Byrum, Ashlee Wright, Louis Chapman, Jennifer Chapman, Brad Byrum and Candice Byrum; brother, James Thomas Byrum of Athens; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 11 a.m. to noon at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow to Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with full military honors and the Rev. Guinn Green officiating.
