Claudia Wilson

Claudia Wilson, 98, a resident of Old Fort, passed away on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, in a Gainesville, Georgia, healthcare facility.

She was born in Conasauga, and she was the daughter of the late Nola Brackett Bivens and Arthur Bivens. Her husband, Charlie Wilson; her infant sons, Charles Edward Wilson and Jerry Ray Wilson; her sisters, Ruth Dunn and Violet "Dodie" White; and her brothers, Jewel Bivens and Winfred Bivens, also preceded her in death.

She worked on the family farm all of her life. She raised chickens and cattle and she farmed the land. No one could outwork her. She was a member of the Southview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Charlene Brock (Kirby) of Gainesville, Georgia, and Charlotte Headrick (Rev. Randall Headrick) of Old Fort; grandchildren, Barry Brock (Chela), Karen Disney (Daniel), Sherri Casey (Kendall), Shelley Lewis (Ernie), Shanna Kesler, Sherae Cannon (Dwayne), Tina Long (Charles), Tammy Rogers and Tony Headrick; 24 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Britton of Dalton, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Chapel, with the Revs. Bruce Headrick and Lee Ingram officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ball Play Baptist Church Cemetery with grandsons and grandsons-in-law serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
