Clyde “Dudley” Johnson, 72, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at his home.
He was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Johnson; and was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Howard and Charles Johnson; and his mother and father-in-law, Mary Frances and John F. Kibble.
Dudley was the longtime owner and operator of Red Hot Battery and Alternator on Wildwood Avenue in Cleveland, with over 40 years of service. He loved to fish and hunt, but most of all, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tonya Johnson; sons, William “Bill” Johnson and Clayton Johnson; daughters, Rachel Boys (Kacy), Callie Nelms (Brett) and Shayla Lawson (Cassidy); grandchildren, Charlie Johnson, Whitney Nelms, Tyler Nelms, Macanna Nelms, Emma Peacock, Clementine Lawson and Santana Lawson; great-grandchild, Riley Darden; his sister, Wanda Burns (Joe); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Nathan Sneed officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
