Connie Rebecca Webb Green

Connie Rebecca Webb Green, 78, passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, with her family by her side.

A lifelong resident of Cleveland, she was born on June 28, 1944, and graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1962. Beginning her career as a candy striper at Bradley Memorial Hospital in her teens, Connie served her community as a physician’s assistant for over 25 years. Since 1978, she served her church family at First United Methodist in children’s ministries and as a communion steward. She also loved to care for children as a teacher’s assistant at Mayfield Elementary and as a nanny for Jackie Pearle Smith in her retirement years.

Her friends most remember her bubbly personality, willingness to fight for the underdog, and participation in our local Democratic Women’s Club. Her husband and children most remember her as a fierce and loyal protector who created a home full of joy. Her sister most remembers her as momma’s favorite.

Cherished wife of Walter Eugene Green for 48 years, Connie was a loving and devoted wife.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Carney and Margaret Sue Webb; and her sister, Edna Louise Green (Verlin D. Green, deceased).

She is survived by her sister, Wilma Chastain (Emmett Chastain, deceased); daughter, Margaret Altheia Green; son, Jonathan Walter Green; daughter-in-law, Michelle Elizabeth Marsich; brother-in-law, David Newman (Martha Green Newman, deceased); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

With deepest gratitude, the family thanks those who provided love and support during the last few months. We offer special thanks to Sarah Osborne-Ingram and her family for the love and care she provided for Connie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Street Chapel, from 10 to 11 a.m.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

We love and miss her.
