Damaris Lajas, 60, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, in a Chattanooga hospital.
Damaris was born in Miami, Florida, and she was preceded in death by her father, Emiliano Gonzalez. Damaris worked as a court translator for 15 years, serving numerous counties. She loved her dogs, "Coco" and "Marino," but most of all, she loved being a wife to Joel and a grandmother and spending her time with her family. Damaris attended Westmore Church of God.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Joel Lajas of Cleveland; sons, Adrian Lajas (Crystal) of Philadelphia, Tennessee, and Gabriel Lajas (Tiffany) of Dayton, Tennessee, grandchildren, Jaden, Isabella, Alayna, Alex, Avalea, Theo and Brooke; her mother, Hiraldina Gonzalez of Miami, Florida; sisters, Deborah Rios and Dorcas Troche (Harold), all of Pembroke Pines, Florida; brother, Emiliano Gonzalez Jr. (Saray) of Orlando, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
