David Curtis Lee Hodge, 79, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022, at his home.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and attended First Baptist Church. He served in Vietnam with the Second Armored Division and retired from Astec, in Chattanooga, where he worked as a pipefitter. He was an avid car enthusiast with the Falcon Club of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ruby Hodge; and his sisters, Sybil Duggan and Mary Ruth Kelley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Curtis Hodge; a son, Mike Hodge (Tiffany) of Cleveland; a daughter, Alice O’Daniel (Keith) of Dunkirk, Maryland; three grandchildren, Brianna O’Daniel of Shady Side, Maryland, Brian O’Daniel II of Eglin AFB, Florida, and Lynlee Hodge of Cleveland; three siblings, Larry Hodge, Joan Freeman and Faye Dobbs, all of Cleveland; his lifelong friend, James Carolee Morrow of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Richard Mason officiating. All services will be held at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory in Cleveland.
Interment will be at noon on Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
