Douglas Monroe 'Doug' Caldwell

Douglas Monroe “Doug” Caldwell, 68, a resident of Georgetown, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his residence.

He was the husband of the late Arlene Caldwell and was also preceded in death by his father, Athel Caldwell; and a granddaughter, Ella Abel.

Doug had been the owner/operator of Caldwell Dozing and Excavating for many years. He enjoyed farming and gardening, four-wheeling, coon hunting and trout fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Stanfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Andy Caldwell of Georgetown; two daughters, Amy Johnson (Blake) of Cleveland and Allie Abel (Alex) of Birchwood; his mother, Barbara Caldwell of Georgetown; two sisters, Data Caldwell and Della Evans (Dee), all of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Coby Caldwell, Collin Caldwell, Ayden Caldwell, Stella Abel, Leila Abel, Cole Johnson and Clay Johnson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, with the Revs. David Evans and Mike Rymer officiating.

Interment will follow in Stanfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Blake Johnson, Alex Abel, Coby Caldwell, Andy Caldwell, Collin Caldwell and Ayden Caldwell serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
