Erwin Raymond Retzleff

Erwin Raymond Retzleff, 83, of Old Fort, entered into his Heavenly home after gaining victory over a lengthy illness on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.

Erwin was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and resided in Tennessee for 44 years. His unwavering faith and walk with the Lord blessed many lives. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a beloved uncle. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing hockey, fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities but his true passion was spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Margarette “Bessie” (Deveraux) Retzeff; an infant sister, Winifred; one sister, Rosemary Fisher; and two brothers, Roger Retzleff and Hughbert Retzleff.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Retzleff; children, Scott Retzleff, Sandra Hood (Terry), Angela McConnell (Lance) and Maria Foreman (Dale); grandchildren, Nick Hood (Haze), Kayla Lambert (Peyton), Shaina Retzleff (Nick Ward), Judah McConnell (Tiffany), Seth Hood (Andrea Allen) and Kohen McConnell; five great-grandchildren; and numerous precious nephews and nieces.

Erwin’s family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at 6 p.m. Bro. Guinn Green will be officiating.

He will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a procession leaving from the funeral home at 2:30 p.m.
