Dr. Harold Ray Cooper Sr., 84, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, and entered his heavenly home with his Father; he has longed to be there.
He was the pastor of Old Pathway Baptist Church for the past 52 years, and he loved his church family dearly. He received a doctorate from the North Carolina College of Theology. He was a great man of God, who loved preaching God’s Word, and being with family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Esther Ruth Cooper; daddy, A.C. Cooper Sr.; mother, Leona Davis; and sister, Wanda Welborn,
He is survived by his loving family: Victoria (Bobby) Pritchard, Donna (Curtis) Clayton, Ray (Cheryle) Cooper, Brian (Maryland) Cooper; brothers: Waymond Cooper, A.C. Cooper Jr.; and sister, Judy Manges. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his Life will be at the Old Pathway Baptist Church on Rymer Road, Cleveland, TN 37323, on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with the funeral to follow at 7 p.m. The Rev. Jason Fuller, the Rev. Larry Montgomery and the Rev. Ray Cooper will be officiating the service.
Pallbearers will be Bob Pritchard, Jeremiah Pritchard, Curt Clayton, Phillip Smith, David Waters, Trey Cooper, Robert Pritchard, Jeremiah Pritchard II and Major Waters. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Clayton, Carter Clayton and Collin Smith.
There will be no graveside service. He will be laid to rest at Lee Cemetery in McDonald.
