Irene Boyd, 73, of Cleveland, departed this life on Friday, June 11, 2021, at her home.
Born on June 26, 1947, in Etowah to the late Sylvester and Louise Lawson Boyd, she lived a majority of her life in Lafayette, Ga., before spending the last years in Bradley County.
She was retired from K-Mart after 15 years and enjoyed reading, watching game shows and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Boyd; son, Gordon ”Pete” Hall; and sister, Janie Ireland.
Left behind to cherish her memory, are her children: Teresa Jackson, Lisa and Robert Tomashot, and Steven Hall; siblings: Mary “Rosie” Waldon, Daisy Davenport, Amy Williams, Cheryl Stiles, Thomas Womack and Betty Turner; special niece and caregiver, Katherine Romine; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several extended family; and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Homegoing for Irene Elaine Dobbs Boyd will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
