Jackson Luke Myers


Jackson Luke Myers, 18, of Dayton, passed away after an automobile accident on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton.

He was born on June 19, 2004, in Chattanooga, the son of Jeremy Myers and Melanie (Jackson) Myers, who survive him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sandra Jackson.

Jackson lived in Dayton all his life and was a senior at Rhea County High School. He ran cross country for seven years, played basketball, was on the yearbook staff, was a member of FCA, was active in the youth group at New Union Baptist Church, and was an avid Vols fan.

Jackson is survived by his parents; his brother, William Clayton Myers; his grandparents, Wayne and Lynn Myers; his grandfather, the Rev. Lamar Jackson; his uncles, Aaron (Tiffany) Myers and Mark Jackson; and many friends and family who loved him, all of Dayton and Rhea County.

Funeral services for Jackson were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at Rhea County High School Auditorium with Pastor Keath Butt officiating.

The family received friends at the high school from noon until the time of the service.

The family requested that friends wear orange to the service.
