Jimmie Ronald Headrick

Posted

Jimmie Ronald Headrick, 85, of Benton, said his final farewell to this world on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church. He was born on Sept. 20, 1937, in Murray County, Georgia, to the late Tinker and Nola Headrick. Throughout his mischievous nature and outpouring personality, he had many friends. His motto was “he would buy anything that walked on four legs.”

Jimmie was a papaw to many and an uncle that everyone should have had. He played a vital role in the lives of many of the family’s children.

In addition to his parents, Tinker and Nola Headrick, he was preceded by his siblings, Ray Spivey, Mildred Cline, Lee Roy Headrick, Bonnie Cox, Aline Bandy and Jeanette Kersey.

Left to cherish the many memories, include his beloved wife of 62 years, Martha Headrick; a special niece, Chandra (Adam) Hughes and her children, Chelsea Chadwick, Jordan Myers and Rachel Johnson; siblings, Betty Morris, Emma Mae Cox, Bobbie Hawkins, Billy Headrick, Tommy Headrick, Wanda Baggett and Steve Headrick; and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton with Pastor Mike Hazlewood officiating.

Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens with Brandon Headrick, Adam Hughes, Jordan Myers, Burch Bates, Chris Bates, Jeff Bates and David Rogers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of his hunting club.

Family and friends will gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
