Johnny Pickett

Johnny Pickett, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, in a Chattanooga hospital.

Johnny was born in McDonald, and he was the son of the late Minnie Lou Goodwin Pickett and Truman Julius Pickett. His brother, Wayne Pickett, and several aunts and uncles also preceded him in death.

Johnny was an iron worker most of his life, and he was a member of the Iron Workers Local #704. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He was a member of the local Bass Masters and the National Bass Masters. He loved building classic cars. He would go to car shows and won numerous awards for his cars. He was a member of the NSRA, National Street Rod Association. Johnny attended McDonald United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rachael Pickett of Cleveland; daughters, Donna Dunn (Ross) of Charleston and Suzi Swafford (Tracy) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Ryan Dunn (Lindsey), Ragan Dunn, Brett Swafford (Canaan), Haley Swafford; great-grandchildren, Remi Dunn, Charlie Metcalf; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held private for the family.

The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
