Judy Owenby Phillips

Judy Owenby Phillips, 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at the family residence.

Judy was born in Cleveland, and she was the daughter of the late Annie Wakefield Owenby and Dillard Owenby Sr. Her husband, Leon Phillips; and numerous siblings and in-laws also preceded her in death.

Judy retired from the Circuit Court Clerk's Office for Bradley County with a number of years of service. She was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues. She enjoyed going to country music concerts and was a big Vince Gill fan. Most of all, she enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. Judy was a Christian.

Survivors include her daughter, Leisa Winner (Gary) of Birchwood; son, Jacen Phillips (Melissa) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Zack Scoggins, Samuel Bain, Jaxen Phillips and Garrett Phillips; sisters, Ina Sue Owenby of Atlanta, Georgia, and Vickie Ogle of Cleveland; brother, Duke Owenby (Joan) of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, with Pastor Jamie Tuttle officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
