Julie Michelene Works

Julie Michelene Works, 64, of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1958, to the late Thomas and Dovie Caldwell. Julie worked at Cleveland Speedway for many years and enjoyed dirt track racing. She also worked at North Cleveland Baptist Childcare and enjoyed children and taking care of them. She could often be found attending yard sales, and she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Darrell “Doe” Works; brother, David Caldwell; sister, Brenda Caldwell Carder; and grandson, Henley Hipps.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Brandi Hipps (Travis); sister, Debbie Walker; best friend and partner in crime, Kim Works; granddaughter, Eliza Welch; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Julie’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, at Companion Funeral Home and also on Monday from 1 p.m. to the 2 p.m. Celebration of Life service with Chuck DeFriese officiating.

She will be laid to rest following her service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Tanner Works, Heath Works, Rowdy Works, Tommy Caldwell, Mark Carder and Fred Carder Jr. serving as pallbearers.
