Kenneth ‘Ken’ Roark

Kenneth "Ken" Roark, 71, a resident of Georgetown, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, in a Nashville hospital.

Ken was born in Cleveland, and he was the son of the late Jewel Patty Roark and Edgar Roark. His maternal and paternal grandparents also preceded him in death.

Ken was a graduate of Birchwood High School, and he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. He was a longtime accountant and administrator and retired from M&M Mars. At the time of his passing, he was working for Edward Jones. He loved music and was an accomplished pianist. He enjoyed bluegrass and southern gospel. He enjoyed antique cars and taking his dad's ‘59 Chevrolet Impala to car shows. He won several awards for his ‘59 Chevy. He enjoyed traveling, especially cruising and he enjoyed cycling. Ken was an avid Tennessee Volunteer football and basketball fan. He was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church in Georgetown.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rhonda Roark of Georgetown; son, Jeremy Roark of Cleveland; sisters, Judy Jenkins (Jerry) and Michelle Stutz (Ken), all of Georgetown, and Jamie Davis (Otis) of Cleveland; his second mom, Kathyrn Roark of Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Mitzi Streifthau and Donna Hysinger (Jerry), all of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Labron Hysinger (Lara) of Cleveland; nieces and nephews, Angie Hickman (Riley), Chris Jenkins (Emily), Logan Wolfe (Kierstyn), Ashley Lewis (Austin), Amy Bandy (Tom), Dustin Hysinger (Ashley), Jennifer Awotula (Emmanuel), Matt Jones (Sara), Savannah Goodwin and Tanner Davis (April); numerous great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, with the Rev. Patrick Wooden officiating.

Interment will follow in the Snowhill Cemetery with Chris Jenkins, Riley Hickman, Logan Wolfe, Tom Bandy, Dustin Hysinger and Matt Jones serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Andrew Carson, Dwight Tinsley, Daniel Willhoit and Steve Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
