Leonard Waldimar Ohlsson

Leonard Waldimar Ohlsson, 93, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.

He was born on March 10, 1929, to the late Einor and Julia Ohlsson. Leonard was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He received a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and retired after 40 years from Whirlpool Corporation as a director of quality.

Leonard’s love for travel took him to all 50 states, and he has a host of photographs from these trips. He was always willing and able to help with home improvement projects for friends and family. Leonard was very active in church as a deacon, usher and made weekly visits to local nursing homes. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 65 years, Joan Ohlsson; daughter, Cynthia Forsgren (Larry); two sons, Scott Ohlsson (Annie) and James Ohlsson (Kelly); sister, June Fiege; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Leonard will be laid to rest at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, with a graveside service at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with full military honors.
