Posted

Our beloved, Leyasia Denee Woods, a daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at the age of 24 on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023.

She was born in Cleveland, on Sept. 12, 1998, to Lisa Arnold and Stepfon Woods. Leyasia grew up in Cleveland, where she graduated from Walker Valley High School in 2016. She attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized with her brother at an early age to the delight of her loving "Granny." At Shiloh, she actively participated in Sunday school, the missions group, youth choir, youth programs, Cedine youth camp and the dance ministries.

The Boys & Girls Club was a vital part of her life. She attended the Club for many years. Because of her love for the program and the children, she later became an employee and impacted the lives of younger children. Her places of employment also included Dunkin Donuts, where she was known for her beautiful smile and sweet spirit and Mrs. Winner's, where she worked alongside her mother and her team.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Betty Sue Dunn (“Granny”) and Curtis Arnold; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Ellen Woods; paternal grandfather, William Blair; uncle, Nelson Armad "Artie" Goldston; and stepfather, James Treadway.

Left to cherish her memories, are her loving mother, Lisa Arnold; father, Stepfon Woods; paternal grandmother, Rebecca Woods; devoted brother, Demarcus Arnold; sisters, Maliyah and Layla Woods of Cleveland, and Stephanie Treadway of Spring City; brother, Ky’shan Jackson of Georgia; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; a dedicated and devoted aunt, Holly Davis( Ben); and a godmother, Danette Ware.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Inman and East Street, Cleveland, with Minister Mark Pollard delivering the eulogy. The body will lie in state at the church from noon to 1 p.m.
