Louise Elizabeth Thompson

Louise Elizabeth Thompson, 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at her residence.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Choir and was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved her church. She was employed at American Uniform and the UT Agriculture Extension Office where she retired. She was a graduate of Howard High School as a valedictorian and later a graduate from Cleveland State College.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Thompson; daughter, Marion Elizabeth Thompson; parents, Pleas and Fannie Talley; sisters and brothers: Mary Wells, Gladys Anthony, Vivian Thompson, Robert Talley, Pleas Talley, Eugene Talley and Ronald Talley; uncle, Martin Lee Garrett; son-in-law, Warren Willis; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her children: Cecil L. (Wanda) Thompson Sr., Debbie Renee Willis, Marilyn A. Thompson, Anthony L. Thompson, and Waymond L. (Jackee) Thompson Sr., all of Cleveland; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters: Edna Talley and Andree Wright of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Homegoing services will be on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, with the Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In compliance with COVID-19 there will be a walk-through visitation at the church from 2:30 until 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday., and on Saturday, at the funeral home from noon until 5 p.m.
