Pledger T. Burns, 91, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at a local healthcare facility.
He was a U.S. Army, Korean War veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was retired from Magic Chef, and enjoyed UT sports and spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Agatha Burns and Florine B. Jones, both of Oak Ridge, and Janet Johnson of Cleveland; three brothers: Robert Burns, of Cleveland, Billy Burns of Chattanooga, and Jack Burns of Cleveland; his mother, Grace Lee Tallent of Ooltewah; and father, William Burns of Cleveland.
He is survived by his daughter, Eyvonne Burns of Cleveland; granddaughters: Monica Westfield and Ashia Webb, both of Cleveland; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 11 a.m., with burial at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, with full military honors.
