Robert “Bob” Lee Headrick Jr., 78, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Bradley County and had lived here his entire life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the local chapters of the Vietnam Veterans and the Disabled Veterans. Bob was talented in auto body and antique car restoration for over 50 years and owned Bob’s Auto Repair for over 20 years. He was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God.
He loved going on family vacations, especially to Florida, where he made many friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. Bob was extremely generous and had a great sense of humor. He was lovingly known by many as the Candyman, always handing out candy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Headrick Sr. and Margie Cartwright Headrick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Carolyn Caywood Headrick; daughters, Sandy Markham (Mark) and Sharon Holmes (Tony); and a niece, LeAnn Hayes, who was like a daughter; seven grandchildren, Haylee (Ben) Wycoff, Emilee Markham, Parker Holmes, Leah (Erickson) Contreras, Landen Holmes, Ben Markham and Carson Holmes; one great-grandchild, Evelynn Wycoff; three sisters, Wanda Headrick, Linda Headrick and Karrie Works; three brothers, Randy Headrick, Wesley Headrick and James Headrick; four sisters-in-law, who he loved like sisters, Bonnie Hayes, Debbie Warner, JoAnn Caywood and Sheila Cochran; best friend, Melvin Glass; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of His Life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Private interment will be on Monday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Mark Markham, Tony Holmes, Parker Holmes, Landen Holmes, Carson Holmes and Ben Markham will serve as pallbearers.
