Ronald Eugene Bottoms

Ronald Eugene Bottoms passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the age of 72.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1950, in Chattanooga, to Carl and Dorothy Bottoms.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his nephew, Jeremy Bottoms.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ann Bottoms; his children, Christy (Patrick Wolf) Bottoms and Jennifer (Sam) Johnson; his grandchildren, Lila Johnson, Lucy Johnson, Jack Wolf and Asa Wolf; his brother, David (Terri) Bottoms; his sister, Karen Bottoms; two nieces, Taylor (Trent Cox) Bottoms and Alyson Brooks; and nephew, Tyler Brooks.

He was a graduate of Birchwood High School, Class of 1968, and Cleveland State Community College. He retired from Olin Chemical/Lonza after working for 34 years in development. Prior to that, he worked at DuPont for a decade.

He was a member of New Union Baptist Church in Georgetown, where he served as a deacon.

Ronnie loved his family and friends dearly. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He especially delighted in being a grandfather! Fishing, roasting marshmallows and reading bedtime stories are happy memories they will treasure. He had a gregarious spirit and an exuberant laugh that accompanied his many stories. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting trips, shooting sporting clays, traveling out West, camping and gardening.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Street Chapel, in Cleveland, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, officiated by the Rev. Donnie Jenkins.
