Sharon D. Vest

Posted

Sharon D. Vest, of  Cleveland, was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Dec. 27, 1959. She died peacefully in her sleep on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2022, after several years of medical disability.

She was preceded in death by her mother, the late Iris Brownlee Vest.

Sharon is survived by her father, Lamar Vest; stepmother, Vickie Vest; her daughter, Christy Bedford Garmany (Knox Garmany); grandson, Skylar Gilliam; sister, Rhonda McClure (Rick McClure); brother, Mark Vest (Lindsay Vest); her aunt, Brenda Hess (Larry Hess); her uncles, Earl (Mildred) and Keith (Larinda) Brownlee of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was a graduate of Lee University with a degree in accounting. She worked in business for several years before being declared medically disabled.

Sharon was a loving, caring and giving person, who was always more concerned about the welfare of others than her own. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

The family will honor Sharon’s spoken and written request that her memorial be a private family graveside service with remarks from Pastor Mark Williams and family members. Respecting her wishes exceed any personal choices the family may have.

In lieu of flowers, Sharon would prefer a cash donation be given in her name to the North Cleveland Church of God Junior Nursery and Preschool, 335 11th St. NE, Cleveland, TN 37311 (423 476-5513), which is under the leadership of her longtime friend, Faye Cooper.

The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
