The Sound of Tennessee presents ‘The Grinch’
The award-winning Sound of Tennessee will be presenting “The Grinch” a holiday production and Christmas concert at the Lee University Dixon Center for the Performing Arts on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 4 at 3 p.m.
The entertaining and inspiring show will share the a capella sounds of this world-famous chorus singing Christmas favorites from the “Grinch Who Stole Christmas” along with much loved Christmas carols and hymns of the season. The tight-knit barbershop harmonies offer these familiar songs a new life that will become a favorite.
The Cleveland-based Sound of Tennessee Chorus has been singing for more than 20 years with members coming from throughout Southeastern Tennessee to participate. They have been ranked among the top 20 chorus in the world at competitions.
“It’s worth the drive every week to sing with a chorus of this calibre,” said member John Dutton, who comes from the Knoxville area. “I’ve had the opportunity to sing with many choruses, but these guys really work to bring the most out of the music and make each chord ring.”
“The Grinch” is a staged production featuring secular songs and a full backdrop of the Grinch’s town.
