Tommie Jenkins Vincent

Tommie Jenkins Vincent, 87, of Cleveland, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

She lived a happy, full life and touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

Tommie was born on Feb. 15, 1935, to Claude E. Jenkins and Bonnie McCurry Jenkins in Bradley County. In 1957, she met Raymond Vincent and became his best friend; they married on March 15, 1958. They had one son, Nathan Vincent. Tommie always made time for her church and family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School at several churches.

Tommie graduated from Bradley Central High School and Cleveland State College. She worked at Bradley Memorial Hospital and was the first hospital information systems director until she retired after 35 years. After retiring, she helped organize and was a leader of the Bradley Memorial Hospital Retirees and Former Employees' group for over 20 years. Tommie was also on the board of directors of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems (THIMSS) in Tennessee. Her family is very proud of everything she accomplished.

Tommie is survived by her husband and best friend for 64 years, Raymond Vincent; son, Nathan (Gina) Vincent; special granddaughters, Maria and Shianne Vincent and Jeannie (Michael) McGarity; and three great-grandchildren, Haven, Talon and Saylor McGarity; sister, Muriel (Larry) Womac; sister-in-law, Faye Jenkins; brother-in-law, Jimmy Rue; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends who will cherish their memories of her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Bonnie Jenkins; infant brother and sister, Claude E. Jenkins Jr. and Kathleen Francis Jenkins; brothers, Edward (Bobbie) Jenkins and Harold Jenkins; and sisters, Veneda (Harold "Red") Earnest, Robbie (Marvin "Whitey") Earnest and Betty Rue.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home, 2415 Ocoee St., Cleveland, TN 37311, with Pastor Larry Williams and Minister Larry McNabb officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from noon until the service begins.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers include David Earnest, Steve Earnest, Donnie Jenkins, Ricky Rhodes, Raymond Adkins and Rik Chaudhary.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to either the American Heart Association (www.heart.org), American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or a charity of your choice.
